We just could not hold it in.  We told Trents family this past weekend and we told my parents and sister via SKYPE.

We went home for Trent’s dads suprise 50th birthday! We got into the city around 11:30pm.  Trents mom picked us up and we got home and handed her a box.  She opened the box and inside it was a pic of Trent and I holding up a sign saying “Can we call you Grandma?”.  She got up and gave us hugs and immediatly started showing me things she had kept from when Trent was a baby.  It was so very sweet.

The next morning, Trent’s sister L came over to drop her car off for us and we gave her a box with a picture saying “Can we call you Aunt Lindy”.  She jumped up and screamed and gave us hugs and was super excited too.  Everyone was just so happy and so thrilled for us.  It was awesome.  It makes me want to have more news like this all the time. HAHA!  I love making people happy.

Later on that night for Dad’s suprise birthday party we all dressed up like “hicks” and strolled down the hill singing Happy Birthday.  Dad stepped outside to a group of his friends and family and locked eyes with Trent immediatly.  I think he was on the verge of tears. It was an amazing sight and then Trent and I went inside and got Dad and Smom (step mom) together, we sat them down (it was really my step mom’s birthday and dads birthday is this Sunday) and handed them their own boxes. They opened it and could not read it because it was dark upstairs and so I blurted out “It says Can we call you Grandma”.  Immidiatly Smom burst into tears, Dad was fist pumping saying “I am going to be a GRANDPA” “You guys aren’t joking right?” and Smom yelled “This is going to be the most spoiled baby ever… I am going to be a Grandma”.  We had a huge group hug and it was just wonderful. SO MUCH FUN!

When we got back to NY, I thought about the waiting to tell my parents until Christmas thing. I told Trent “If my mom buys me clothes it is going to be a waste of money, cause I won’t be able to fit into them for a long time”  ANd I am sure I will have gained some weight since then.  So Trent decided we could SKYPE and tell them.

So I wrote on my belly in eye liner that “I’m Pregnant”.  I got my parents on SKYPE for the first time, which was a chore in itself really. HAHA!  And my dad was just about to leave to go to a pool tournament and I said, wait… I have a rash and I need you to look at it.  So my parents are both peering at me through SKYPE and they go.. WHOA What is THAT?  And i come closer to the screen and they look at my belly and then look into the camera and say “Really?! Is that true?!”  (apprently Trent and I joke around too much.. no one believes us)  We say “YES!” and everyone is excited again!

I get off with them and tell my sister to SKYPE me. She says she is sleeping and I say “give me 5 minutes and you can go back to bed.”  I do the same thing to her as I did my parents and she is excited and we talk about how cool it is and then she says she cannot go to bed! HAHA. It was soo much fun telling them. I wish I could tell people something cool everyday. THAT would be fun!

So that is how our family found out. We are still not telling other people yet because we are still “in the woods” but once I hit my 2nd trimester I am going to be screaming it from the rooftops! YAY BABIES!!!

So my parents have been having a wonderful time in FL.  The love thier kids and LOVE living the retired/unretired life.  My mom says “I am finally a stay at home mom” and my dad has kids to pick on.  However it looks like there is a bit of spiritual warfare going on.

The site is a loosely based Christian campus as in the only church on site is of Christian denomination.  The teachers and students are allowed to hold Bible studies together without problem.

SO things are going good, but there seems to be a gentleman who works with my dad who either really feels my dad is not a “parent” figure or is jealous because the kids like my dad more than him.  My dad is funny, outgoing, and if he catches you doing something wrong, he will let you correct yourself before giving punishment.  My dad has suprised the boys and have done some chores for them once in a while (cleaning the bathroom that all 90 boys use), running a vaccuum at the end of the weekend.  Now my parents did this for my sister and I too.  We never had set chores, but if they asked us to do something we did it, but I would come home to my mom having cleaned my room for me or my dad having done the dishes for me. It is something you do to let others know you appreciate them and just a little boost of something nice.

Well the other guy does not like it and gets upset that my dad is not making the boys responsible and he is ruining their manhood. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

My dad also played a joke on a kid who he is friends with. The kid laughed, my dad laughed and then my dad got in trouble and was told my the administration that if he made one more mistake that he would be let go.  Wait a sec, so it is 2 strikes and your out? And the joke was exactly that, a joke, everyone understood it.

Then after that my parents were asked to no longer hold the Bible study with the teens.  They would find someone else to do the important job.

So now my parents feel like they are on pins and needles, like they can’t make a good choice because everything they choose is wrong.

So that is what is going on in their world.  If you think about them pray for them.

Thanks 🙂

Oh my gosh, so while at home we were some busy bees!   We got there the day before July 4th.  We got up had our coffee on the porch in the back yard and the family started to arrive.

In case you were wondering. Grandma made it!  It was a bit hot out for her, so she did not hang outside long, but she still showed up and we had some laughs.  We tried to play a game, but no one was good at it… so we stopped and all went swimming instead.

Later in the day Trent said he wanted a fire for the smell.  Now I will tell you right now that it was already 97 degrees out. Image

Here is a pic of him creating that fire.  Notice no one is sitting under the canopy because the heat from the fire got a little out of control.  After dark dad and Trent lit off some wonderful fireworks and we had a good time just chillen in the backyard.  The next day, the power went out in the whole neighborhood.  It happened at 4:30am and this was the day that mom and I had to do some cooking for their party the next day.  I prayed that God just let us have power until the party was over.  We had power and no one else in the neighborhood did!  God does do miracles people!  It was simply amazing.

So the next day we go to my cousins house for the party. Image

Here is a pic of everyone in my family waiting for people to show up.  We sat in the shade under the tree because believe it or not, it was cooler there than in the tent. Hahaha!  After a while I got bored and started a game of horse with Trent and a couple friends.

We got creative and started taking pics of us “dunking” .  Needless to say the lowered the hoop for me. Just look at that great form!!

Next day the power went out, for a full 24 hours. So we took to Bob Evans for some food.

Mom and Dad waitin for the food to come. YUMMM. Pancakes from Bob’s are delish! MMm MM MM.  Later in the day we visited my other grandma and went to my favorite place Ruggero’s. I go there for a chicken salad and the bread.  Image

Yumm that bread is delish!  After we ate, we went back to grandma’s. I finished my laundry and we went to Frankenmuth to go to a music fest that they have their every Sunday night at 7:00pm.

On the way there, mom and I took a little nap.  I am laying on a pillow and my mom has perfected sleeping in the sitting position.

We are now awake and enjoying a little Frankie Valley and the four seasons.  It was actually horrible. But we still had a good time.  Because there was no reason so go home and stare at one another in the dark, we decided to grab a beer and the Frankenmuth Brewery.

Dad is telling a story and Mom is laughing hysterically.  Kind of how the whole trip was.  Just a good time all around.

We have reached our final day and I spent it in the pool, after I helped my mom clean out her closet and dad helped dad disassemble the furniture.  Here our the last pics of me at my home.

Just look at our faces.. filled with joy and love. HAHAHA. SO funny.

ImageHere is the real pic. Much better.

Just hanging around……

ImageThe last pic of me with my mom and dad at the house I grew up in since I was 10 😦  It is just a house but it has helped make me…… (look to the next pic)

That is the trip though.  Nothing to exciting but as you can see, a lot of memories were made once more. Now on to the Florida house… my parents move July 25th!!!

So there is so much to tell you!  BUT here is the best of it.

So my parents had their first open house the weekend after Memorial Day.. so that would be June 3.  They only had a few people even show up, so they decided to go ahead and call in the professionals.  Well they ended up selling their house on June 13.  Literally 10 days after they put it on the market, which is almost unheard of.  They actually had two offers coming in and had themselves a little bidding war!  What a wonderful thing.  In the same week as the house sold, they also sold their car and had a Garage sale that was a HUGE success.  That was only the stuff they actually had in the garage! HAHA.

My mom is done with work at GM now.  She retired the same week they sold the house. She had a wonderful retirment party and people really went above and beyond for her. So that is awesome.  My sister is going to my parents house tomorrow (from FL) .  Well she is in MI right now, but she is staying with a girlfriend for a day or two and then going to my mom and dad’s house.  So things are just going super swimmingly.

I mean really, if you do not believe in the power of prayer, you may want to start.  There is no way that all this would have happened without an AWESOME and LIVING Christ.

So that is what is going on right now 🙂

P.S.  My ear is all better.  Not really sure what the heck went on, but it got better on its own. ?

Oooo my! We have made it to Sunday and needless to say our family is in need of some relaxation.  Trent worked yesterday, I cleaned the house, did the laundry, worked out, and laid out (while he took a nap).  Today, Sunday is the day we get to spend together and just be.

We LOVE routine. If I could be so bold to speak for my husband, I think we both really enjoy our lives routine.  It does not mean we do not know how to roll with the punches or that we never deviate and enjoy it.  It just means that we are content in the life that we have chosen for ourselves.  There are days of being grumpy, of enormous laughter, and everything in between but through it all it is ours and we really LOVE it.

Today I have been thinking how happy I am with how everything has turned out. I have a husband who adores me (and I him), I have in laws who actually love me (and I them), and I have parents that I am close to (both of them), and I have a sister and a brother in law who already am so close to I invite myself over to their house without their knowledge and my mom is right on board with me. HAHA!

I am a very blessed girl and I hope that I express that through my actions and words to those around me.

Hope you are having a wonderful day too!

Interview #2

Okedoke, SO before my parents went down to FL for their interview, I kept calling them in the mornings.  Not because I wanted to talk to them but because I kept forgetting what day it was and I did not want to miss out on telling them good luck.  Finally my mom said “Jenna, we get it. But you have to stop calling us at 5am.”  HAHA!  Sorry MOM! (She is up by 5am for work, but my calls are ruining her routine… especially since I let it ring once or twice than remember I am calling on the wrong day. HAHA!)

Anyway, so Friday morning finally arrives!  ( I was told not to worry about calling. HAHAHA!) My mom texts me at 5:30am and says ‘What are the odds that the hairspray sprayer gets clogged up today and starts spraying out in globs rather than an actual spray. This leads to me having huge hair spray stains on my brand new clothes!  SERIOUSLY!!”  I replied that is was REDIC! and we left it at that.

I was able to get on the phone with her in the evening and I found out that the interview went really well.  She kept saying that the international students are just so different than American students.  She said the international students have respect and they came right up to her and hugged her (both the boys and girls).  The girls kept saying “Oh we want you to be our dorm mom next year!” She said they were just so sweet and so willing to learn and love. She said that everyone that they spoke to at the school acted like they had the job, saying things like “This is where you will stay, and this is where you will go. We are so excited to have you here with us.”  Things like that.  My mom said that neither her nor my dad were nervous.  They had a really good time and felt like “Home”.

So YAY!  They were told they should find out this week if they got the job.  If they have it there is a ton of work to be done. My mom has to retire, they have to pack and sell the house.  Their summer will be a busy one for sure 🙂

Hey guys!

Well we went home for our Great Uncles funeral and we really had a wonderful time with our family (if you can have such a time during death).  However our Uncle was 94 years old and had been able to live alone for all those years with the exception of 3 months at the very end.  Everything was all about him for the funeral. The casket was made out of a wood that was able to grow on his farm (not from his actual farm but you get the pic).  My mother in law got up and made a beautiful speech about his life and the farm.  It was very touching and very loving. I cannot say enough about my mother in law.  Through this whole thing she has been taking her parents up to the hospital to see our Great Uncle (our grandpas older brother), she has brought pies, and most of all her time and loving spirit. While we were up there for this funeral a cousin on the same side of the family lost her battle with brest cancer.  So the family as a whole has been going through a lot.

When we came home we found out that on the my mother in laws brother went into the hospital.  His oxygen levels are/were not up to par. So he is pretty sick, than our Grandpa (same side) went into the hosipal to get a stint and defibulator put into his heart. My mother in law was in charge of it all!  I mean really, God bless that woman.  She works a full time job of physical labor, gets out of work and takes care of all this!  She is an angel for sure. Just  a day after all of this my dad in law (parents divorced) calls us up and tells us him and my step mom in law have had to put their dog down!!! I mean hit after hit after hit. SOOOO needless to say we have been a bit preoccupied.

In GREAT NEWS… my parents are flying to Florida for their 2 interview 🙂  This looks like it is becoming awesome!

My sister and her husband are building a house (Cara, you will get my order soon)!!!  I mean so much awesomeness is going on with my side of the family. My cousin graduated college.  Trent and I went out to dinner with the President of our company. I mean good things are going on here!

Okay, just thought I would do some updated. I will talk to you all so soon!

So, I called my mom last night to catch up on our work week, when she told me some FANTASTIC NEWS!  Oh my goodness you guys, I am so excited about this. Okay, here we go.

My parents have a job offer at the school that my sister (Neil) works at in Florida.  My sister works at an international high school and kids live on campus (not all but most).  My parents have a phone interview today to become dorm parents.  They would work from 3pm – 11pm at night and pretty much just be mom and dad to the kids!  I feel like my parents really rocked at raising my sister and me, so I am super excited for them to take their school to other kids.  My mom has so much love and my dad is just a good dad.

So this is what would happen:  They would sell their house (blessing), sell a car (keep the van), my mom would retire from her place of work, my dad would just stop working his job (it is a minimum wage job and only gets like 20 hours a week.. so no love loss there), they would move to Florida, live 1o minutes away from my sister, and BOTH be working full time and living debt free!  All I can see is positive’s all the way around for them.  It would also be nice because when I go and visit my parents, I would be able to see my sister as well.  Which would mean I would see her more than just once a year!

So if you are the praying type, please pray that Gods will be done in this situation.  If it ends up not being the right fit, that is fine.  We understand the words no, but if they get pulled down there, there will be a spiritual battle going on.  The kids come from all different backgrounds and we know Satan is not one for anyone hearing the Truth or seeing it be lived out in daily lives.

Either way, I am very excited that they are even getting this opportunity.  SO FUN!

So it is Friday and Trent and I are still at work… ugh.  My parents are in town for just a small amount of time, yet we have to work late.  It is really throwing me off my game. Lucky for me, my parents are making us some dinner which means I will be able to walk through the door and eat instead of having to make the dinner. Thank God for mom and dad!

We walk through the door and man oh man have they gone shopping. The got us some more groceries, there is shrimp, asparagus, cheesy mashed potatoes and some homemade chicken nuggets.  OH MY GOODNESS so much food so little time. We all eat generous portions of this wonderful food and sit around and talk for the rest of the night.

My mom and I went for a walk on the treadmill to have some girl time and we caught up (which is funny cause we at least text once a day).  Oh, how I miss my parents when they are gone.  I just have such a great relationship with the both of them.  Around 11:30 we decide to call it a night and go to bed.  Tomorrow (Saturday) we get to go out on the town to NYC.  I am so excited to go on this adventure with them. YAY Parents.
